A Baskin Robbins in Bohemia has joined the list of eateries robbed at knifepoint on Long Island. The ice cream store is the 16th one struck since February. Now some people in the area are asking much how long until the suspect is caught.

Police say it happened Wednesday night just before 9 p.m. The suspect came, displayed a knife and demanded cash. This time, he didn't flee on foot but police say he got into an awaiting car. This comes just a day after a Subway in Ronkonkoma was also robbed.

On Wednesday, FiOS1 News asked Suffolk County Police Commissioner Tim Sini how long until the FBI gets involved. He said he was consulting with the U.S. Attorney's Office to decide whether or not the case is federal. With this robbery, FiOS1 News again asked law enforcement how long it will take before outside agencies, specifically the FBI get involved, but have not received an answer.

FiOS1 News did reach out again to the Suffolk County Police Department as to whether or not they have decided whether to take the case federal but are still waiting a response.

For now, police are urging store owners to invest in up to date security equipment.
