Investigators are sifting through the ashes this morning of what was once a complete two-story home in Bay Shore.

Now all that's left at this lot on Perkal Street is parts of the former home’s charred structure.

According to the Suffolk Fire Department, it began around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, with four different fire departments responding.

Officials say that after about an hour they had flames under control, but the damage was done, leaving the house gutted.

After that, investigators remained on scene to examine the remains. Two cars sit in the driveway, but right now it is unclear if anyone was inside the home at the time.

No injuries were reported, and arson investigators are on scene to try and figure out what went wrong.
