A solar storm struck Earth's magnetic field early Thursday disrupting some radio communications at the poles, but it didn't upset electronics and communications elsewhere. According to NASA, instruments measuring changes in earth's magnetic fields indicated the onset of a geomagnetic storm. However, it was a minor storm rated a G1 on a scale of G1 to G5.
