Village of Hempstead to Provide Warming Station at Kennedy Park

The Village of Hempstead will be providing a warming station at Kennedy Memorial Park, located at 335 Greenwich Street, for seniors, homeless and other individuals in need of temporary shelter. The station will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day until the cold front passes. Additional hours may be considered based on demand.

Hempstead Collecting Clothes, Blankets for Residents Affected by Sandy

Coming to the aid of residents devastated by Hurricane Sandy, Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray announced that the town will begin a collection drive of coats, clothing, blankets and other essential supplies. These items will be donated to the struggling victims of Hurricane Sandy, many of whom have been displaced and left with a shortage of resources in the wake of the powerful hurricane.

All Hempstead Town park facilities and park programs will be closed / canceled on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 29 and 30.

All Hempstead Town Department of Senior Enrichment programs as well as transportation are canceled for on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 29 and 30.
