Authorities said a Nassau County attorney has surrendered after being charged with grand larceny for allegedly ripping off clients.

Officials said Garden City Attorney Steven Morelli was arraigned today.

He’s accused of depositing $198,000 from his clients’ settlement checks into his own bank account.

“The money would be placed in his account at his law firm. Evidence we gathered showed that once that money was deposited into the account, Mr. Morelli almost automatically withdrew that money and spent it on personal items," Detective Richard Harasym said.

According to police, Morelli took money from four victims; he has paid three of them back but still owes more than $40,000.
