A two-story home in Bellport built by Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk County was given to a family of seven on Thursday. The keys were handed to the Marquez family to unlock the door to a brighter future.

This is the 180th house built by Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk County. The home consists of four bedrooms that provide plenty of room for the parents and five children, especially because previously they were all being crammed into a two-bedroom apartment.

The entire family played a part in building this home, with the parents working on it for 10 months.

The sponsor of the project, Island Outreach Foundation, says that every time they see a family come home it makes all of the effort and hard work worth it.

The house is guaranteed to be affordable for the family because the mortgage, taxes and insurance will never be more than 30 percent of their income.
