Bethpage Turkey Drive collects food, raises funds for Island Harvest to fight hunger

The holidays are here and veterans, local elected officials, and Island Harvest Food Bank have joined forces Monday to distribute hundreds of frozen turkeys to veterans in need.

Over 320 turkeys, along with bags of trimmings, will be going to feed veterans and their families in need across Long Island, thanks to Island Harvest's program Operation Hope.

Brave men and women who put their lives on the line for our country gathered at the event in Islandia to receive a frozen Thanksgiving turkey and trimmings that can serve as more than a month's worth of food.
