Runners from across the Island laced up their sneakers in a contest not to see who's the fastest, but to see who can best-guess how long it would take them to cross the finish line.

“Runners Edge Sayville” and “Smithtown Running Companies” teamed up with Island Harvest Food Bank with the goal to help stop hunger across the island.

It was a four-mile course on the trails of Babylon, where runners had to guess their finish time most accurately. And right on time for Thanksgiving, participants donated frozen turkeys and other foods for a holiday feast.

The race brought in 50 turkeys and $1,500 to donate to the food bank.
