BELLMORE — Students attending Wellington C. Mepham High School are giving back on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend by donating items for those in need. Thousands of high school students from the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District will also join in, helping to pack up donations for local shelters. Students will be filling bags with nonperishable foods, toiletries, and other household items all with handwritten notes. On Saturday, they will deliver the packages to the local shelters throughout the community.

The Roosevelt School District will also be hosting its annual diversity symposium to inform students on the recent changes to the DACA program.
