OCEANSIDE — An elderly man from Rockville Centre is accused of threatening to bring a gun to the School 6 Kindergarten Center on Monday. Nassau County police say a school worker told Kenneth Geller, 72, that for security and safety reasons, he would need to show identification to pick up a student whom Geller claimed was his grandson. In response, officers say Geller mentioned that he was heading to his car to get his ID and his gun. When he returned to the front door, police say Geller pressed the school's doorbell continuously and that he covered the security camera with his hand. This in turn caused frightened staff members to call 911, according to authorities.

Police say Geller was arrested without incident at his home in Rockville Centre Monday just after 5 p.m. He's been charged with falsely reporting an incident in the third-degree.

Police are not commenting on whether Geller has a grandson who attends the school.

Geller was issued an appearance ticket to appear in court on May 23.
