Nassau PD: Man arrested in gang killing of teen whose remains were found in Roosevelt

David Sosa Guevera, 26, of Wyandance is accused in the murder of 16-year-old Angel Soler

ROOSEVELT — Authorities have made an arrest in the suspected MS-13 gang killing of a teenage boy whose remains were found last month in a wooded area. The discovery was one of three sets of human remains found in about a five-mile area over the course of nine days.

Authorities say David Sosa Guevera, 26, of Wyandanch has been arrested and charged with the murder of Angel Soler. The 16-year-old's body was found in October in a wooded area off the Southern State Parkway in Roosevelt. FiOS1 News was there as law enforcement members conducted their search through the residential, yet busy area.

According to court documents, Sosa Guevera allegedly struck Soler across his body and head a number of times with a machete. This was ultimately determined to be the young man's cause of death.

Sosa Guevera did not act alone. It is unclear how many others he acted with, but what is known is that additional suspects have not yet been arrested.

In a joint statement to FiOS1 News, Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas and Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said:

"This is a sensitive and ongoing investigation. We cannot comment further at this time.”

Sosa Guevera was charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bail.
