Bridgewater-Raritan 7, Ridge 5

High school boys lacrosse game played May 2

In a battle of divisional rivals and NJ powerhouses at Ridge High School, the Bridgewater-Raritan Panthers (7-5) gave coach Chuck Apel his 500th career win with a 7-5 result over the Ridge Red Devils (9-4). BW-Raritan's Jake Goldstein opened the scoring before Ridge scored 4 straight, but it was 4-4 at halftime after Dan MacKinney tied the game with 4 seconds left in the 2nd quarter. The Panthers' Troy Tangolics scored the only 2 goals of the 3rd, and Ridge failed to capitalize on man-up opportunities to orchestrate a comeback. Tangolics and Goldstein were the only 2-goal scorers for BW-Raritan, while Sean Eversen had 2 for Ridge. Both teams now await their seeds for the Somerset County Tournament, which begins on Saturday.
