(2) Garden City 15, (1) Manhasset 5

High school boys lacrosse game

For the third consecutive year, the Garden City Trojans (15-3) defeat the Manhasset Indians (12-6), last night by a score of 15 to 5, to win the Nassau Class B Championship at James M. Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. This is a complete opposite of the Woodstick Classic, where Manhasset defeated Garden City by a score of 7-4 at Garden City, Garden City jumped off a very fast start and never looked back. Garden City was led by a great performance by junior faceoff specialist Justin Coppola, who won 15 of 22 faceoffs and tallied a goal. Junior Trevor Yeboah-Kodie and senior Kyle Steinbach also had big games for the Trojans, both tallying 3 goals and 1 assist. Sophomore midfielder Peter Lapina led Manhasset with 2 goals.

Garden City will play for the Long Island Class B Championship vs the Suffolk B Champion (winner of today's Harborfields-East Islip game) on Saturday, June 2nd at 3pm from Hofstra University.
