In the first of the Nassau Class A Girls Lacrosse Semifinals, the top-seeded Massapequa Chiefs (11-4) defeat the fifth-seeded Farmingdale Dalers (8-7) by a score of 13 to 6 at Motamed Field on the campus of Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. Despite not playing for nearly 2 weeks, Massapequa got off a very fast start and jumped up to a 5-0 lead just over 10 minutes into the game. After winning a few draw controls, Farmingdale cut the lead to 6-3 at the half. But Massapequa's defense and sophomore goalie Sophie Cardello, who had a big game with 10 saves, were too much for the Farmingdale offense and Massapequa pulled away late. Seniors Moira Callahan and Jaclyn Gatti led Massapequa tallying 3 goals and 1 assist each.

Massapequa, who are the two-time Nassau Class A Champions, will play the winner of the 3 Port Washington-2 Syosset game (which you will have the highlights by 9:30pm, which right now Port Washington is ahead 8-2 at the half) on Thursday, May 31st at Adelphi University.
