The Massapequa Chiefs (12-4) win their 3rd consecutive Nassau Class A Championship scoring 5 goals in a span of 3:19 late in the second half to defeat Port Washington by a score of 10 to 6 at Motamed Field on the campus of Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. In a defensive battle for the first 43 minutes of the game, the score was deadlocked at 5 until senior attack Jordan Taylor tallied the go-ahead goal on a free position shot to give the Chiefs the lead. Massapequa, down 9 to 3 on the draw controls, would then win the next 4 draw controls, which led to 4 goals and never looked back. Massapequa was led by midfielders, senior Erin Tierney and junior Kate Fiola, who both tallied 3 goals. Port Washington was led by senior midfielder Rebecca Rosen, who tallied 4 goals.

Massapequa will play for the Long Island Class A Championship vs the Suffolk Class A Champion (winner of Northport-West Islip game) on Sunday, June 3rd at 5pm from Islip High School
