Lynbrook mayor passes suddenly Wednesday night

William Hendrick served as Village Mayor since 2011

Lynbrook — The mayor of Lynbrook, William J. Hendrick, passed away Wednesday night due to complications resulting from a heart attack, according to his office. The 64-year-old served as Village Mayor since 2011.

Deputy Mayor Alan Beach will now step into the position.

Prior to being appointed as mayor, Hendrick served as Village Trustee. He also held a position as Town Attorney for Hempstead and as a member of the Towns Industrial Development Agency.

Much of the Lynbrook community was shocked by news of the mayor’s sudden passing.
