WESTBURY — Police say one teen from Nassau and another from Suffolk are facing multiple charges in connection an attempted robbery in which one of the suspects attacked a 7-Eleven clerk with a handgun.

Detectives say D'Andrea Dogostiano, 18, of Rockville Centre and Jahmani Harleston, 19, of Brentwood fled the convenience store without taking any money during the overnight hours on Tuesday. During the incident, authorities say Harleston used a handgun to strike the clerk in the head; the impact, which in turn, knocked him to the floor.

Detectives believe Harleston was also involved in at least five other robberies in Nassau involving gas stations, a deli, and two other 7-Elevens. The incidents date back to Feb. 4. Harleston faces a host of charges, including robbery, attempted robbery, and criminal use of a firearm.

Dogostiano faces fewer charges, including attempted robbery.

Both were taken from Nassau Police Headquarters to their arraignment Wednesday.

As for the clerk who was attacked, police say he received treatment at the scene from a police medic.
