Middle school in Great Neck participates in drug prevention program for 10th year

Students and staff wear bracelets as part of Red Ribbon Week

GREAT NECK — Sixth, seventh and eighth graders at Great Neck North Middle School received red bracelets Thursday when they signed a special pledge.

It’s all part of Red Ribbon Week, a national drug prevention program geared towards kids.

All week long, students and teachers at the school are raising awareness by wearing their school colors, orange and blue, doing anti-drug projects in health class. They are also hearing from a guest speaker from Northwell-Health.

Students and staff have been celebrating Red Ribbon Week for 10 years.
