Have you seen this missing Stony Brook University student?

Police say Courtney Murphy, 21, was last seen on campus on Sunday afternoon


STONY BROOK — The search is on for a missing Stony Brook University student whom police say hasn't been seen since Sunday. Family and friends are worried.

Police say 21-year-old Courtney Murphy was last seen on campus Sunday around 1:50 p.m. Authorities say Murphy may be disoriented and in need of medical attention.

University police say it's possible she's traveling to New York City or upstate to Niverville.

Students on campus say they've heard about the missing student either through social media or in the email they received from the university. Friends have been spreading the word on Facebook since Murphy's disappearance in hopes of locating her.

Courtney Murphy is described as five-foot-three, 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to called university police.
