SPCA offers $5K for info on whoever is shooting cats to death in Nassau

Police search for the culprit, or culprits, behind Garden City ‘cat-shooting spree’

GARDEN CITY — Officials have launched an investigation to find the individual responsible for killing several cats in Garden City.

The Garden City Police Department has been making the grim discoveries for the past two months with further analysis at a Cornell University lab revealing that at least three cats were shot with a small caliber bullet.

The dead cats were reportedly found between Stewart and North Avenues, and Kensington and Brixton Roads.

Garden City resident Natasha says she's rescued more than 20 cats in her lifetime and says that killing animals is unacceptable.

"I think people that hurt animals should get the electric chair, I'm serious. If you don't like your animals. Just take them to a pound,” she said.

And anyone with more information can call the Animal Cruelty Stoppers Hotline at 516-The-SPCA.

The SPCA is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest of the person, or people, responsible.
