Utility crews scramble to restore power to thousands in Nassau

Storm outages cause stoplights to go out on parts of Sunrise Highway

MASSAPEQUA —From Nassau to Suffolk County, villages and towns across Long Island are still without power after Friday’s storm.

Over the weekend, Long Island bore the brunt of fallen trees, major flooding, and power outages. On Sunday, police diverted traffic along Sunrise Highway after several stop lights and stores lost power in Massapequa.

PSEG LI crews are unsure when power will be restored.
