Rockville Centre church feeds thousands for Hunger Action Month

Partnering with neighborhood stores and restaurants, Vineyard Church opens food pantry for those in need

Serving the less fortunate is a core value of the Vineyard Church in Rockville Centre. Twice a week, it opens its food pantry for those in need.

This year the church has served more than 3,700 households. Fresh produce, meats, non-perishables and more are found at the pantry. It's all organized and collected by volunteers who say doing this is worth it for the people they help in the community.

The food is primarily from Panera Bread, Island Harvest, Costco, Trader Joe’s and from the church, which purchases food every week. The volunteers pride themselves on delivering delicious food with dignity and also take pride in everything they give away.

If you would like to make a donation to the Vineyard Church, the number to the parish office is 516-678-7888.
