Despite the cold, residents say they are taking it in stride and keeping their New Year's Eve plans

HUNTINGTON — This week has seen some of the coldest temperatures of the season and isn't headed anywhere soon. But that hasn't stopped Long Islanders from getting out of the house, running errands, and preparing to enjoy New Year's Eve, even if it is forecast to be one of the coldest celebrations on record.
