Man accused of October 2017 double deadly crash charged

David O'Brien is facing 17 counts, including aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter and more

LINDENHURST - David O'Brien was arraigned on Friday in Central Islip for his involvement in a October 2017 fatal crash that left two people dead.

According to authorities, O'Brien was high and drunk while driving his Ford Mustang down Wellwood Avenue. The car hopped the curb and struck a fire hydrant before smashing into a tree, killing 24-year-old Maggie Miller of Copiague and 16-year-old Joseph Galdorisi of Lindenhurst. 16-year-old Daniel Ozarowski was also in the car with O'Brien, and sustained serious injuries.

O'Brien is facing 17 counts, including aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter and aggravated vehicular assault. He was released on $150,000 bond. He is facing 25 years in prison on the vehicular homicide charge, if convicted.
