Police say Ismael Rahman broke into seven places in less than a week.
"When I came in the morning I saw the petty cash was taken," said Phil, a manager at the American Muffler Shop on Hempstead Turnpike.
He says he came into work to find windows broken on two different days in the same week.
Police say Rahman is responsible for those and other break-ins during the last week in February, including five in one day.
Police say he took cash from multiple places and that the 37-year-old even broke into a house on Stratford Road in West Hempstead while the homeowner was home.
Luckily no one was hurt, and Rahman ran off with nothing. Police tracked him down at Nassau County Medical Center Thursday afternoon, where he was arrested.
Rahman faces one count of second-degree burglary and seven counts of third-degree burglary.
