Nassau County executive swears in her first class of police recruits

‘We need new recruits; we need people to work to keep our communities safe,’ says Curran

MINEOLA — A ceremony was held on Friday to officially swear in police recruits. If they make it through the intense 7-month training process, then they will be able to wear the uniforms of Nassau County police officers.

“It is truly an honor to have 63 candidates come and take the oath to begin their journey towards becoming an officer here in Nassau County,” said County Executive Laura Curren at Nassau County Police Headquarters in Mineola. The ceremony was also her first time swearing in a group of recruits.
