Though it's a routine part of their jobs, traffic stops can be very dangerous for police officers. Events can go smoothly or take a turn for the worse, which is why every Nassau police officer takes the situation seriously. To help explain their point of view, off-duty officers named the "Nassau Guardians" hold events at the Elmont Library to educate children about these scenarios.
