EASTPORT — Firefighters worked for more than sixteen hours fighting a massive mulch fire on Speonk-Riverhead Road on Sunday. The smoke from the stubborn fire, which could be seen from miles away, caused limited visibility on Sunrise Highway.

Three firefighters sustained minor injuries fighting the fire and were treated and released from the hospital.
