MASTIC — Preston Mimms, 47, of Mastic, pleaded not guilty Monday to leaving the scene of an accident in 2011 that left a Mastic Beach mother dead. In July of 2011, 24-year old Erika Hughes of Shirley was walking in the street on Mastic Road south of Riverside Avenue when she was struck and killed. Mimms is being held on $500,000 bond.
