WYANDANCH — Suffolk County police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred at North 22nd Street near Nicolls Road late Wednesday night. According to investigators, 35-year-old Eric Brooks was shot in the chest while he was in the backyard of a home. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip where officials said he was later pronounced dead. Brooks leaves behind an 18-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old grandson.

Police said no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
