The Brooklyn man who was accused of driving drunk in a November 2010 crash which resulted in a police officer's death pled guilty in court Thursday. Officials said Michael Bowen, 51, pled guilty to several charges including aggravated vehicular homicide and second-degree manslaughter. Authorities said New York police officer Andres Menzies was driving back from work heading east on the Northern State Parkway in Dix Hills when Bowen's van slammed into Menzies' vehicle while going the wrong way. Officials said Bowen had a blood alcohol level over three times the legal limit.

Police said Menzies, a nine-year veteran from North Babylon, died at the scene. Authorities said Bowen is expected to receive a six to nine year prison term at his June 18 sentencing.
