NASSAU COUNTY — Former Nassau police officer Michael Tedesco was in court Thursday because of a permanent restraining order being filed against him by a woman claiming he had an affair with her while on duty. Tara Obenauer claims Tedesco has threatened her and that she is cooperating with Internal Affairs, which is investigating her relationship with Tedesco. Obenauer says the pair carried on a seven-month affair often when Tedesco was on duty and in uniform.

Soon after Internal Affairs began investigating Tedesco, he retired without the commissioner’s permission.
