FARMINGDALE — The Blue Angels are set to take to flight over at Jones Beach on Sunday for a Memorial Day weekend air show. Parents brought their children to Republic Airport Friday to get a closer look at the F-18 fighter jets and interact with the pilots who will perform the agile stunts. U.S. Navy Blue Angels pilot Captain John Hecker said the air show is an opportunity for spectators to see aerial maneuvers typically reserved for combat situations.
