Officials: Program Will Create Jobs, Improve Infrastructure
HAPPAUGE — Lawmakers, Long Island Contractors Association members, and Suffolk Executive Steve Bellone gathered Friday to announce a program that they said will create more than 300 jobs and improve the county's infrastructure. Bellone said he approved capital projects with a total cost of $32 million. Officials said the 16 projects scheduled include the emergency repairs of four bridges and roads, repaving, energy efficiency, drainage improvements and traffic signal replacements.
