Police: Omid Saidi Got Into Violent Struggle With Officers
ROSLYN HEIGHTS — Omid Saidi, 29, of Roslyn Heights was arrested for injuring a Nassau police officer Friday night, sources said. Officers responded to a report of a disoriented man walking in traffic near Mineola Avenue, according to Nassau police. When officers approached, Saidi became combative and struck one of them on the head, police said. The suspect was eventually subdued and the injured officer was hospitalized, said police.
The accused faces charges of second-degree assault and resisting arrest.
