Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos announced that the county is facing over a $50 million deficit for 2011. According to Maragos, the deficit was the fault of the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority and the democrats for not approving the $45 million bonds to pay back owed property tax refunds.

Maragos also warns that Nassau could face an additional $45 million for 2012.
