RIDGE — What began as a possible Basketball NCAA career ended at the world renowned Julliard School. It was here that Jeanette Vecchione decided to finally trade the basketball court for a classical stage.

Vecchione was a star athlete at her high school and had several offers from Division I schools throughout the country. Basketball was a sport that she and her parents agreed could be her future. But the very competitive nature that drew her to the sport attracted her to a new challenge: Classical music. Discovered by her high school music teacher while clowning around, her musical talent would take her places the Soprano could never imagine.
