Professionals Take up Volunteer Positions
MINEOLA — An unemployed Garden City woman has found a way to put her marketing skills to good use. Lisa Dibona goes to Island Harvest to help out and volunteer Monday through Thursday. It is a great way to fill in gaps in your resume, she says. Helping out with marketing at Island Harvest brought back a feeling of structure that she craved. And she's not the only one. Bob King, who was laid off from the banking industry, took up a volunteer position at the food bank and it eventually turned into a paid position.
