NEW YORK, N.Y. — The city unveiled the winning design for new micro sized apartments that will be built in the Kips Bay section of Manhattan. The 300-square-foot apartments will support Mayor Bloomberg's push for accessible design for young singles. Current housing laws in New York City require apartments to be no smaller than 400 square-feet. However, if the pilot program for the new housing developments is successful, the regulation could be amended.
