ROOSEVELT – Snow may be on the way and Long Islanders are already taking precautions to combat the frigid weather. Experts say if you have to be outside, wear several layers of loose-fitting clothing. Keep your head, cheeks, ears and nose covered.

With anything from a light dusting to several inches of snow predicted, officials are preparing for either scenario. Warming centers will be open in Nassau and Suffolk counties throughout the weekend.
