FRANKLIN SQUARE — John Brito, 42, of Franklin Square was arrested for attempting to steal a vehicle warming up in a driveway, according to Nassau County police. The victim noticed the vehicle backing out of the driveway and managed to chase Brito down, police said. Brito was held by the victim and a passerby until officers arrived, sources said. The suspect was found to be under the influence of alcohol, said police.

Brito faces charges of robbery, driving while intoxicated and driving without a license.
