Sources Say Loss Attributed Lower Usage in Storm's Wake
Superstorm Sandy has reportedly caused the Long Island Power Authority to suffer historic losses in 2012. According to Newsday, LIPA lost $164 million in 2012, however the total revenue for the year was $185 million under budget due to a drop in bill collections from the hurricane and lower usage.
