FARMINGDALE — New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was on the floor of Long Island manufacturing plant D’Addario & Company Friday to announce the Made in America Manufacturing Act, new legislation aimed at boosting skilled labor nationwide. If passed, the initiative would bring up to $20 million in competitive funding to the area to help local businesses expand and train their employees. Senator Gillibrand stated that Long Island has lost nearly 17,000 manufacturing jobs since 2001.
