Oyster Bay collects items for hurricane survivors during end-of-summer celebrations

Town gives back during Waterfront Festival, Bluefish Tournament

Share

Many spent their Sunday at the Waterfront Festival and Bluefish Tournament at the Theodore Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay

The separate events are both long-standing traditions in the community, but this year residents were able to give back.

“Today's a great day to enjoy the last beautiful days of summer. We have so many different events going on. We are teaching people about protecting the marine environment, we have live music and we are collecting household items for the hurricane survivors in other states,” Oyster Bay Supervisor Joesph Saladino said.

Along with enjoying the Waterfront Festival, many participated in the Bluefish Tournament for a cash prize.
