A total of seven people were arrested early Saturday morning after Suffolk County Police, along with other law enforcement agencies conducted state liquor authority inspections at two bars in Patchogue. Authorities say the bars were targeted due to their alleged connection to the MS-13 street gang, as well as other illegal activity.

The first of the two establishments, the Cuscatlon Lounge, was shut down by the town of Brookhaven due to structural issues. The second bar targeted, the El Capitan sports bar was shuttered after its owner, Alcides Blanco, 53, was given a total of 32 summonses from the state liquor authority, village fire marshall and Suffolk County Police.

Suffolk County Police say that the investigation is ongoing.
