Port Authority explosion impacts bottom line of surrounding businesses

Police identified injured suspect as Akayed Ullah

MANHATTAN — Businesses near the Port Authority bus terminal are seeing a drop in business after the explosion caused by 27-year-old bomber Akayed Ullah, injuring three pedestrians.

"It's just insane that something like this could go on. Luckily, the police acted quickly and everything is taken care of and everyone is safe," says Kiss My Slice Pizza owner Donna Ryan.

Naz Akhter, Elegant Eyebrow Threading Spa owner, says she feels bad.

“I don't feel safe and my family who is working in other places and my friends who work in this place and all over the place, so I don't feel safe," says Akhter.

Both owners say they will remain open for business and are willing to be there for people on a personal level if they need assistance.
