3 teenagers beaten and robbed in Roosevelt, police say

Detectives believe suspects to be an 18-year-old male and two 16-year-old females

Nassau County Police say three teenaged boys who were walking down Babylon Turnpike in Roosevelt were beaten and robbed Tuesday afternoon.

According to detectives, the three victims – ages 16, 17 and 18 – realized they were being followed by a man and two girls, who then punched and pushed them, taking their wallets and cell phones before fleeing.

Police described the male suspect as black, believed to be 18 years old, weighing 130 pounds, wearing all black clothing. The two female suspects are believed to be 16-year-old girls, around 5-feet, 5-inches tall, weighing 100 to 115 pounds.

Investigators say both female suspects were wearing Roosevelt High School uniforms.

It is not known whether they know the victims.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
