Nassau police believe there is a connection between a robbery at a North Valley Stream ice cream shop Tuesday night and a number of other robberies in the county.

Police say similar to the other robberies, the suspect walked around the counter at the Carvel store on Dutch Broadway around 9:30 p.m. and demanded an employee to open the register while armed with a six-inch knife. There were no reported injuries.

According to investigators, security video from a New Hyde Park store that was targeted more than a month ago shows the knife-wielding robber. The same suspect can also be seen from security video recorded at an East Meadow Dunkin' Donuts that was robbed about three weeks ago, according to police.

Police describe the suspect as a black man around 25 to 30 years old, six-feet tall and about 170 pounds. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, tan work boots, black gloves and dark glasses.

The thief has hit nine businesses all over the county, police say. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
