Suffolk PD: 2 detectives hurt after crash involving stolen vehicle in Port Jefferson Station

Officers were conducting investigation in parking lot when Andrew Schneider, 18, crashed into their cruiser

Suffolk County police say two male detectives from the First Precinct in West Babylon were conducting an investigation in a Port Jefferson Station parking lot when a stolen car collided with their vehicle.

The two detectives were treated and released from St. Charles Hospital.

The driver, 18-year-old Andrew Schneider, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was not injured and is expected to be arraigned Wednesday morning.
