Stop & Shop and U.S. servicemen came together Wednesday morning to make sure thousands of families on Long Island have a turkey on their tables this Thanksgiving.

At the Long Island Cares food bank in Hauppauge, more than 2,400 turkeys were donated by Stop & Shop. The event is part of the Express program, which will deliver almost 21,000 turkeys to hunger relief organizations.

The turkeys will benefit Long Island Cares Harry Chapin Food Bank and Island Harvest.
